Brands and studies

Your Cleotic organisation holds brands and studies. Open them from Brands and Studies in the sidebar. Segments, prompts, responses, analytics, sources, opportunities, and reports all belong to one brand or study.

Brands

A brand is the company or product you track and optimise. Each brand has one primary brand record and the competitors you compare it with.

Create a brand from Brands -> Create brand. See Quick start for the setup paths.

Studies

A study is a research or experiment scope set up with the Cleotic team, such as a market comparison that isn't tied to one of your brands. Studies use the same evidence views as brands. You can't create a study yourself; contact support@cleotic.ai if you need one.

Project IDs

Behind the scenes, every brand and study is a project. The project ID is what the API, CLI, and MCP tools use, for example --project in the CLI or project_id in MCP tools. Each project has a kind of brand or study.

  • API: GET /api/v2/projects?kind=brand or kind=study
  • CLI: cleotic brands list and cleotic studies list
  • MCP: list_projects with the kind filter

The ID also appears in app URLs, such as /brands/{id}/performance.

Status

Brands are either active or paused:

  • Active brands collect evidence on schedule.
  • Paused brands keep their data, but scheduled collection stops. They don't count towards the Brands plan limit.

Brand access

Organisation membership doesn't grant access to every brand.

  • Owners and admins can access all brands.
  • The brand's owner can manage its access.
  • Share a brand with specific people or teams from Brand settings -> Brand access.

Change ownership or move a brand

Owners and admins can open Brand settings -> Brand access and use Change beside the owner to assign another organisation member.

To move a brand to another organisation, use Move brand and choose the destination. You must be an owner or admin in both organisations. The project ID and history move with it, existing shares are removed, and you become its owner in the destination.

After the move, review access in the destination and share the brand again as needed. If the move succeeds but the destination doesn't open, use Open in destination or the organisation switcher. Don't repeat the move.

Plan limits

The Brands allowance is shared across the organisation, and tracked brands count your brands plus their competitors. See Plans and usage.
