The Cleotic AI Traffic plugin records AI crawler and referral visits on a WordPress site, and lets Content Studio save drafts there for review. You need WordPress administrator access.

Local mode

Leave the connection key empty to keep AI crawler and referral evidence in WordPress. Local mode does not send data to Cleotic.

Connect to a brand

  1. In Cleotic, open Brand settings → Site and select Connect WordPress, or Connect site and then WordPress.
  2. Select Approve in WordPress, sign in to WordPress, and approve access.
  3. Return to Cleotic to check the connection.

One approval turns on both AI visits and Content Studio drafts. Cleotic adds the plugin during approval; if WordPress needs you to install it yourself, Cleotic shows the remaining step. If the plugin is already installed, use Connect to Cleotic in WordPress.

Choose what to sync

All eligible pageviews supplies the total needed to calculate AI traffic share. AI events only supplies crawler and referral evidence but leaves the total incomplete.

Use Sync now in WordPress to process queued events, or allow scheduled sync to run. A successful connection test checks credentials; inspect AI traffic for collected events.

Caching and missing events

Requests served before WordPress/PHP runs are invisible to server-side plugin tracking. The optional frontend beacon can capture AI referrals on cached pages, but cannot see crawlers that do not execute JavaScript.

Check the saved key, domain, sync mode, and queue if events do not arrive. An ordinary visit is not necessarily an AI event.

Privacy

The plugin strips query strings and fragments from stored URLs and referrers and does not send raw visitor IP addresses to Cleotic. See the plugin's data and connection details for its current behaviour.
