Connect your site

On this page

Connect your website so Cleotic can record the AI crawlers that request its pages and the visitors AI assistants send. The connection lives in Brand settings → Site, and its evidence appears in AI traffic.

Tracking starts after installation. It does not backfill earlier visits or prove that an AI model indexed, trained on, or cited a page.

VercelProduction Log DrainEligible page requests included in the delivered logs
Bunny CDNPull-zone log forwardingEligible page requests served through the configured pull zone

Browser tracking cannot see crawlers that only fetch HTML. Server-side coverage depends on which requests reach the provider and are forwarded to Cleotic.

Connect a site

  1. Open Brand settings → Site and check the brand's website address.
  2. On the AI visits row, select Connect site.
  3. Choose WordPress, Vercel, Bunny CDN, or HTML snippet / Other, then follow the steps for that platform.

You can leave and Finish setup later. If someone else runs the site, select Send them a link: it opens the same steps for that site only, works for a week, and doesn't need a Cleotic account.

On WordPress, one approval in the plugin turns on both AI visits and Content Studio drafts.

Create a separate site for each distinct subdomain, such as example.com and blog.example.com. Cleotic normalises a leading www. when matching domains.

Install the HTML snippet

Choose HTML snippet / Other and copy the code. Add it before the closing </body> tag on the pages you want to track, deploy the change, then open a deployed page in a browser.

That visit can confirm the connection even though it is ordinary traffic. AI traffic rows appear only when there is matching AI evidence. If the connection isn't confirmed, check that the snippet is on the deployed page and that browser or site policies haven't blocked its request.

Connection status

On the Site pageWhat it means
Not connectedSetup isn't finished. Select Finish setup.
ListeningSetup is saved and Cleotic is waiting for the first signal. The first AI visit usually shows up within a day.
OnCleotic is receiving signals, with the time it last saw one.
PausedNothing is recorded until you select Resume.

On doesn't mean every visitor is tracked or that an AI crawler has visited. Review the evidence in AI traffic.

Manage a connection

Use the row's menu to Manage the connection or Pause it. Pausing keeps the configuration but stops recording, and resuming doesn't recover visits missed while paused.

Changing the platform restarts verification. Existing analytics remain available. Only active sites count towards capacity; see Plans and usage.

AI share and coverage

AI share needs a total-pageview denominator as well as AI events. The browser snippet records AI evidence, not a complete count of all pageviews, and WordPress's AI events only mode also lacks that denominator. The Site page says when total pageviews aren't sent.

When AI share is unavailable, use crawler and referral counts within their collection limits. Missing total-pageview data is not 0% AI traffic.
