Brand voice

Every draft in Content Studio is written in your brand voice: a tone and your guidelines. Set them in Brand settings -> Brand voice. They're read each time a section is drafted, so a change applies to the next draft of every page.

Tone

Choose one tone, such as Professional, Conversational or Technical, or No tone to leave it to the guidelines.

Guidelines

Guidelines hold your messaging, the words to use and avoid, and house style.

  1. Open Brand settings -> Brand voice.
  2. Select Add guideline.
  3. Enter a name and the guidance, or upload a .md, .markdown or .txt file.
  4. Choose This brand or Every brand, then select Add.

A guideline for every brand is shared across the organisation, so consider other brands before changing it. Every draft follows all the guidelines this brand sees.

Use concrete instructions, for example:

Audience: operations managers comparing CRM tools.
Explain technical terms on first use.
Do not invent customer quotes, prices, or product capabilities.

Review each draft against your guidance. Guidelines steer the writing; they don't replace checking the facts.
